A built-in lock prevents accidental activation. Next to a lock for the on/off switch, the M1-S also has a lock for on the XLR input, so that the XLR cable will stay in the microphone. Please note: it is usual with Rode microphones that one of the XLR pins (the grounding) extends a little bit further than the others.
