General
With the ESP LTD EXL Black Metal II, you’re getting an uncompromising metal machine that offers fast playability and a thick, focused sound. The set-through construction ensures a smooth transition to the higher frets, whilst the 24.75-inch scale and Thin U neck invite you to play fast without compromising on control. The mahogany body delivers warmth and punch, and the Makassar ebony fingerboard adds a crisp attack. Finished in Black Redburst Satin, this EXL looks just as aggressive as it sounds.
Electronics, hardware and playability
Under the bonnet, you’ll find a Seymour Duncan Mortal Coil active bridge pickup with 3-voice functionality, controlled via a volume knob and a voice-selection toggle switch. This allows you to switch quickly between different tones for modern high-gain riffs, tight palm-mutes and cutting leads. The black hardware comprises LTD locking tuners and a TonePros locking Tune-o-Matic bridge with tailpiece, ensuring your tuning and sustain remain rock-solid. The guitar comes strung as standard with D’Addario XL110 (.010–.046) strings. An EXL FORM FIT case is available, but is not included.
