The 612VIIFM: Remarkably Flexible Tone

The tonal flexibility of the 612VIIFM hinges on the mounted set of Seymour Duncan pickups. A single-coil SSL-1 sits at the neck and middle position while a 5 Humbucker provides a thick bottom at the bridge and a push/pull switch splits the humbucker in two for a pure and twangy single-coil shimmer. The mid-position pickup is uniquely wound in the opposite direction for a reversed polarity to remove any danger of unwanted noise interrupting the signal during transitions.

Solid Tuning stability and Familiar Control

The tuning stability of the Yamaha Pacifica 612VIIFM is supported by a set of Grover locking machine heads that automatically clamp the individual strings during tuning to ensure minimal shifting and de-tuning while playing. With these tuners, swapping out strings is also a thankfully streamlined process and, backed up by a self-lubricating Graphtech TusQ XL string nut and Wilkinson tremolo bridge, no matter how wild the riff or dive bomb, the overall stability of this remarkable guitar remains solid.
