The Yamaha Revstar Standard RSS02T is the second-generation model in the ever-popular Revstar Series. Inspired by Yamaha café racer motorbikes, this stylish tone-machine feels fast, stable and snug, courtesy of a chambered mahogany body topped with a slice of maple. The RSS02T with Focus Switch
Yamaha have armed the RSS02T with a set of VP5 passive P90-style pickups which are based on an Alnico-V magnet and add welcome bite. Add the 5-way pickup switch and you've got everything you need to drop fresh riffs and smooth licks in any style of music.

Ik had deze gitaar al een tijdje op het oog (vooral door Chris Buck), en onlangs de knoop doorgehakt. Het is mijn eerste P90 gitaar, dus even wennen aan dit nieuwe geluid. Maar zeker een welkome aanvulling op mijn single coil en humbucker gitaren (Fender en PRS). Eerste indruk is goed. Fijn halsprofiel, beetje smaller dan ik gewend ben, maar het went snel. Balans van de gitaar is ook goed, beter dan mijn PRS 'Les Paul'. De afwerking viel mij een beetje tegen . Overal lees ik hoe geweldig die afwerking is, bij mijn exemplaar had de QC blijkbaar een slechte dag. De set up is prima, maar in de lak zitten een paar foutjes, er zit een redelijk diepe put in het hout op een zichtbare plek. Maar na twee repetities en een optreden maak ik dat soort cosmetische beschadigingen zelf, dus geen probleem. Wat me stoort is de afwerking van de frets. Het lijkt wel of iemand met een te grove korrel op de leveling beam de frets heeft behandeld. Ik voelde meteen bij het benden dat dat niet voldoende glad was. Geen probleem, ik polijst ze zelf wel, maar valt toch tegen. Overall een prima gitaar voor het geld. Hij gaat zeker niet terug! Dit was trouwens mijn tweede exemplaar. De eerste kwam aan met een gebroken head stock. Maar dat is keurig opgelost door Bax.
