The Yamaha Revstar Standard RSS02T is the second-generation model in the ever-popular Revstar Series. Inspired by Yamaha café racer motorbikes, this stylish tone-machine feels fast, stable and snug, courtesy of a chambered mahogany body topped with a slice of maple. The result is an instrument that packs excellent resonance, has a comfortable weight and feels perfectly balanced. This, combined with the set-in construction of the 3-piece, carbon-reinforced maple neck, completes a seriously solid build.

The RSS02T with Focus Switch

Yamaha have armed the RSS02T with a set of VP5 passive P90-style pickups which are based on an Alnico-V magnet and add welcome bite. Meanwhile, the master tone pot doubles as a push/pull focus switch, which is basically a passive boost that serves up a different tone. Add the 5-way pickup switch and you've got everything you need to drop fresh riffs and smooth licks in any style of music.

Playing Comfort

Besides chic looks and spirited tone, this electric guitar supports chords and solos alike with the optimal playing comfort offered by a modern, 12-inch-radiussed rosewood fretboard lined with 22 stainless steel jumbo-size frets. These frets not only aid accurate intonation but are hard-wearing and require less maintenance. To finish, the back of the neck has been thoughtfully coated in satin-gloss to make sure it doesn't stick to sweaty hands in the heat of the moment.
