General

This is the Gotoh SD-91 HAP-M (delivered per 6 pieces) tuning mechanism set. These are 6 locking tuners, intended especially for Fender electric guitars such as Stratocaster's and Telecaster's with traditional vintage-style 6-in-line tuners that all 6 connect to each other. Because of the screw fixing and because of the lagging standard 8-millimetre hole, these locking tuners on these guitars do not require you to drill new holes or enlarge the existing ones. You easily remove the old tuners and easily replace them with these new, solid upgrades without any modification.

SD-91 HAPM: Magnum Lock tuners with HAP functionality for desired shank height

Although the M stands for Magnum Lock tuning mechanisms and the locking part, these mechanisms also have HAP functionality to adjust the shaft to the desired height for each guitar string. Loosen the screw at the back with a hex spanner, then there the front to how it should be for you and then tighten the hex screw again. Then pull the new string through the mechanism, tighten it in the same way you tune a string, slightly stretch the guitar string and bring it up to tune quickly, simply and stably. This applies to all 6 tuning mechanisms and guitar strings.

Prima stemmechanieken maar met 1 nadeel: Het is een rotklus (veel trial, error en youtube) om de hoogtes van de 6 posts op de gewenste lengte in te stellen. Daarna heb je er gelukkig geen omkijken meer naar. Ze draaien soepel en regelmatig maar wel met veel weerstand. Snaren wisselen is super simpel: losdraaien, snaar eruit, snaar erin, vastdraaien. Geen extra handelingen nodig om de snaar vast te zetten. En dat gaat erg goed. Ben ook blij dat de string trees op mijn gitaar nu verleden tijd zijn. Nauwkeurig stemmen gaat nu sneller en snaren blijven beter op stemming.
