General
The challenge of developing a P90-style pickup, is that they are not always clean in terms of sound. However, DiMarzio has managed to do just that with the DP278 Fantom P90! This pickup still has the charm and typical sound characteristics of a 1950s P90-style pickup, but without the hum and other side noises. So expect a thick midrange, lots of harmonic overtones and full-sounding single notes - and when you crank up the volume: no hum!
