A revolution of a humbucker, the EMG 81 is an active wonder, precision-engineered to kit out electric guitars with the powerful and intense, sustain-rich tone of a ceramic core. This dual-coil essentially guarantees high output, tight basses, razor sharp trebles and super-thick pinch harmonics, so it's little wonder that the EMG 81 has been considered the battle-ready hero of the metal world for decades already. Expect deadly precision reinforced by brutal power, all from one pup.

The EMG Quik-Connect System

EMG pickups come as part of a complete set-up, so you get everything you need to overhaul your electric guitar and kit it out with active electronics. As such, the EMG 81 Black comes bundled up with matched 25k volume and tone potentiometers, which have been set up for active pickups and come fully prepped for EMG's Quick Connect system - meaning that no soldering is required. The pack also includes mounting hardware, a stereo jack output, installation wires and a battery clip.

Tips or comments about this product

  • Please note: Each manufacturer of active pickups uses of their own solder-free systems. The EMG Quik-Connect system is therefore not compatible with solder-free systems designed by other brands.
  • Soldering is only required for connecting the pickup switch. Soldering is not required if you use the EMG ST-style 3-way pickup switch which is not included as standard (see the package deal below).
  • If you have a guitar with an output jack with a long shaft, then you can replace it with a stereo version (sold separately, see package deal below).

Het is de eerste EMG ooit voor mij. Super eenvoudig te installeren. Het neemt heel weinig tijd in beslag en geeft je zo de tijd om nog wat andere zaken te controleren nu je toch bezig bent. Deze pickups zijn ook prachtig, de kleur is fanatastisch en past perfect bij iedere zwarte gitaar, welke vorm dan ook en mat of glans. Hij staat zelfs heel mooi bij mijn groene Schecter. Klank is super, zowel op High gain als low gain channel van Peavey ( 6505 en Valve King). Prachtige cleans en distortion klinkt geweldig en ik heb geen last van geruis. Conclusie: MUST HAVE.
