This 200 Series pedal basically turns your guitar or bass into a synth and, since it's polyphonic, you can play rich synth chords as well as single notes - all without needing to mess around with any external MIDI pickups and without having to fight against any latency. Dive into the clear and clean, Boss-style control layout - complete with backlit LCD display - and quickly call up your favourite sounds.

The Boss SY-200: Blend 171 Synth Sounds with Your Guitar, Your Bass & Your Pedals

All of the synths housed in this stompbox have been based on analogue models and have been divided into 12 different categories, totalling no-less-than 171 different synthesizer-style sounds that can be moulded, shaped and tweaked before being saved to one of the 128 preset slots. Once you've selected your synth sound, you can go for a 100% effect mix, so you hear nothing but synth, or blend it with your original guitar or bass sound. This Boss creation even features an effects loop, so you can link up your other pedals and, so you can gain dynamic hands-free control, an expression pedal can also be hooked up. Thinking of everything, Boss has also fitted a 3.5mm TRS MIDI in and out port alongside a micro-USB-B port for firmware updates.

Heel tevreden met deze heel fijn klinkende gitaar synthesizer. Met wat draaien aan de knoppen heb je al snel heel fijne sounds. Ik gebruik het ook in combinaties met een elektrisch akoestische gitaar. Zero latency dus je voelt heel goed de nuances. Ook weer supersnel geleverd door Bax. Altijd top service!

Eindelijk een echte synthesizer dat geen speciale PU nodig geeft en werkt via een gewone jack! Super snelle respons, geen latency zoals met GK3-element, sounds zijn pure synthese maar heel goed bruikbaar. Wel is een extra multi-effect nodig om de synth-klanken tot hun recht te laten komen (chorus, delay, reverb,...). Heb alle modellen van Boss/Roland gehad en deze vind ik echt de beste en eenvoudigste om te gebruiken. Denk aan de gekende GR300 sounds van Pat Metheny, die haal je hier gemakkelijk uit. Heel tevreden :-)
