General

The Austrian-made LCT 640 raises the bar when it comes to large-diaphragm condenser microphones. Once again, this microphone delivers unprecedented performance for the demanding studio engineer. The LCT 640 is best used for lead and backing vocals, and acoustic instruments like piano, guitar, drums, percussion and strings. It's also suitable as overhead microphone for recording electric guitar in the studio as well as on stage.

LCT 640 large-diaphragm tube condenser microphone

In addition to the standard omnidirectional, cardioid and figure 8 pickup patterns, Lewitt's LCT 640 also possesses broad and super cardioid directional characteristics. Furthermore, this mic has a dynamic range of 135 dB and really stands out from the rest thanks to its extremely low self-noise ratio of just 10 dB. In combination with a 4-level hi-pass filter and a 4-step switchable pre-attenuation filter, this mic offers virtually limitless recording possibilities. Automatic muting, key lock to prevent accidental setting changes, clipping protection, push buttons and an illuminated display are all reasons why the LCT 640 is so unique.
