General

The Neumann TLM 107 BK is a highly versatile condenser microphone with a switchable pickup pattern. This microphone offers the high quality that you might expect from Neumann, as well as the latest microphone technology, and a fresh-looking exterior. It's fitted with a tailor-made diaphragm and intuitive controls. A maximum sound pressure of 141 dB (which can be increased to 153 dB with the attenuator switch), a linear response up to 8 kHz, and a light boost in the upper frequencies make the Neumann TLM 107 fit for recording nearly any sound source - from softly whispered vocals to the loudest brass instruments. The Neumann TLM 107 BK comes with an SG 2 microphone clip and a neat wooden storage box.

The newly developed diaphragm of the Neumann TLM 107BK is based on the diaphragm of the renowned D-01, resulting in a low self-noise mic and a flat response. A light boost in the upper frequencies ensures increased presence and crispness when recording vocals. You can select one of five pickup patterns via the switch, so that you can use the TLM 107 BK for nearly any recording situation. The cardioid and hyper-cardioid pickup patterns ensure that the mic is insensitive to ambient noise and can even be used for live applications.

Fine-tuning the condenser microphone

The Neumann TLM 107 can be fine-tuned to a tee, via one navigation switch at the rear. Apart from the pickup pattern, you can set the optional attenuation and low-cut filter. All the settings are indicated by LEDs at either sides of the switch, and a chrome ring with backlit patterns. In order to prevent distractions, the displays are automatically switched off after 15 seconds.
