For years, Neumann's U 87 Ai has been one the most popular large-diaphragm condenser microphones for vocals. This studio legend is also ideal as an overhead mic for drums or acoustic recording pianos, but to do this properly, you really need two of them. The U 87 Ai MT stereo set consists of two black U 87 Ai MT microphones and comes complete with shock mounts and a robust case.

The U 87 Ai's popularity is mainly due to its unrivalled sound quality. Instruments get an extra dose of presence which means there's less work to do to make them stand out in your mix. The U 87 Ai is capable of recording with cardioid, omnidirectional and bi-directional polar patterns. You also have a high-pass filter and a -10 dB attenuator at your disposal.
