The Neumann U 87 Ai
The U 87 Ai's popularity is mainly due to its unrivalled sound quality. Instruments get an extra dose of presence which means there's less work to do to make them stand out when mixing. Equipped with a high-pass filter and a -10 dB attenuator, the U 87 Ai is also capable of capturing sound with a cardioid, omnidirectional or bi-directional polar pattern.
