Thanks to its flat frequency response, its 20Hz-20kHz range and the 139dB max SPL, the KSM32 is suited for many different kinds of instruments and vocals. It's particularly great when used for acoustic instruments like pianos, guitars and percussion instruments, but it can certainly handle bass-heavy instruments like kick drums or cellos as well! You can even use this microphone to record ambient sound in a particular room, whether it's filled with electric guitars or woodwinds.

Furthermore, feedback won't be a problem with the KSM32, as its cardioid pickup pattern ignores most background noise, picking up only that which is right in front of it. The ultra-thin gold-leaf Mylar diaphragm, meanwhile, takes care of the actual recording, and offers an excellent dynamic range. Shure KSM32 SL Condenser Microphone (Champagne)

Maybe not the best kept secret, however this microphone is versatile and a true workhorse.
Use it during some blind tests against much more expensive microphones and you'll be surprised.
My problem is I want a second one now.
