With its updated, shorter XLR connector and an improved version of the 3D-Tex material, Rycote redefines windshields. The basket, consisting of the 3D-Tex material, is brijantically conceived. After all, firstly, this means easy maintenance by eliminating hairy windjammers. In addition, the damping effect is superior and the basket is very quick to assemble and disassemble thanks to the ingenious magnetic Z-Locking system. So you can quickly adapt when a situation calls for it. Furthermore, the Cyclone's shock suspension is highly effective, tackling impact noise and vibration at the source. The result is a more neutral response of the sound source to be recorded.

Support for more microphones

The implementation of shorter XLR connectors has been a brilliant move by rycote. This is because it means support for more condenser microphones, and particularly their size, than in the past. More space has been freed up by this shorter connector. Thus, you can now fit not only longer shotgun microphones, but also some very popular shotgun microphones. All in a very compact and lightweight housing for extremely flexible operation.

Superior shock absorption

The widely acclaimed and patented Lyre suspension system has undergone another iteration. For example, the so-called 'Floating Basket Principle' has now been implemented in the Lyre suspension. This means that impact noise is addressed at its source, preventing this noise from being further amplified and transmitted to the rest of the suspension. Each version of the Cyclone (Small, Medium and Large) is equipped with this updated system. This means that the combined weight of the basket and the microphone specified for it have been taken into account. The result is a more neutral frequency response of the microphone and a lighter weight with less vibration.

With this new series, they've raised the bar when it comes to enhanced attenuation, user-friendliness, weight, and efficiency.
