General

Some time ago, the Zoom LiveTrak L-6 came out, a handy multi-tracker. As far as a drawback could be mentioned, 't would be the lack of a display. In the new Zoom L-6 max, that's the addition. So this Max is a somewhat easier variant, to which two XLR/jack inputs have also been added. So in total it's about twelve inputs that you can take up simultaneously. Technically, there are even fourteen channels of recording, as you can also bounce the entire mix to a new track. In fact, managing your tracks works the same way you want it to work: with LED encoders. In short, choose one of the ten options (EQ, aux, level etc.) and you immediately see the position of the encoders. And, of course, the recorder itself: fine quality in 32-bit float. It is a very compact device that is very handy for bands and small acts. Useful because it is compact, but especially because it offers the possibilities you want.

New L6max is worth the upgrade from the L6. High Z input. Brilliant. 4 microphone amps brilliant. Small package for big mixer. Brilliant. Front end for you computer DAW brilliant (although available in the L6). AI noise reduction brilliant. (this did surprise me). The only downsides are device is greedy on batteries, so I tend to use power blocks. Now pretty standard, but still well done. The recording is excellent but I can't find a way to play some tracks whilst recording others, useful when 1 track is cocked up. Overall a splendid device.

Erg blij met de Zoom L6Max. Gebruik hem als mixer en recorder voor syntheziers en modular. Veel stereo ins, -20db switches en extra sub-out voor stereo send zijn geweldig. Elektronische muziek maken en opnemen zonder computer is opeens een realiteit zonder grote investering.
