New Yamaha A-Series: Great Guitar, Better Price!
Yamaha has revamped the internal construction of their entire A series, resulting in a major improvement in the low and mid-range tones. What's more, the A3 and A5 series now include the SRT2 preamp, which offers automatic feedback reduction, among other things. The controls have been simplified and you've now got two different microphone simulations and a blend control to play with.
It's the little things...
All the new steel-string guitars in the A series have the same tried-and-trusted neck profile as previous Yamaha models. The difference is that now they have a satin-gloss finish on the back. This smooth, comfortable neck gives each guitar a familiar feel. Another ingenious detail is the placement of the battery compartment, which has been integrated into the end-pin jack. This also greatly improves the balance as well as the acoustic sound of this guitar.
The A series is split up into A1, A3 and A5. The A1 models are equipped with a solid spruce top. The A3 series have all-solid construction and come complete with a gig bag. The top-of-the-line Japanese models in the A5 series come with a hard-shell case. You can choose between a Dreadnought or a Concert body and there are variations in sides and backs made of rosewood or mahogany. You can also choose the finish you like best: Vintage Natural or Tobacco Brown Sunburst.
Successor to the SLG130NW
As well as these new steel-string guitars, Yamaha also introduces a new silent guitar. The SLG200NW is the successor to the SLG130NW, a nylon-string acoustic with an SRT (Studio Response Technology) preamp and pickup. It also has built-in reverb! The result is a guitar with an authentic sound that will make you feel as if you're playing in a concert hall! Finally, the improved body design of the Yamaha SLG200NW gives it a state-of-the-art look and feel.
