What sounds warmer than a ribbon microphone? A tube ribbon microphone! The Golden Age Audio R1 Tube Active is a ribbon microphone with an internal tube preamp. This is a combination that is not common and certainly not at this price. Unlike a passive tube microphone, the R1 Tube Active has a high output, similar to that of a condenser microphone. So this is a great match for the preamps of your audio interface or mixer. The natural, warm sound of the R1 ribbon gets the punch of two transformers and the open mids of a 12AX7 tube in this active tube version. Ultimate vintage sound with modern high output!
