The D'Angelico Excel SS Amber is a versatile semi-acoustic guitar with a warm, expressive sound and sophisticated looks. The maple body with spruce top and centreblock ensures a warm, defined sound while feedback remains well controlled. Ideal for jazz, blues, soul or pop, but, thanks to the powerful pickups, also excellent for more powerful styles, for example in combination with effects such as overdrive and distortion. This guitar has two high-quality Seymour Duncan humbuckers: a DA-59 in the neck position for a full, vintage sound and an SH-4 at the bridge for more bite and expression. Together, they deliver a wide range of tones, from warm and round to sparkling and powerful. Individual tone and volume controls let you fine-tune your sound to any playing style or amp. Visually too, the Excel SS is a real eye-catcher: the glossy Amber finish, gold-toned hardware and characteristic art deco details such as the D'Angelico Stairstep tailpiece give the guitar a luxurious look perfectly suited to its class.
