The Duesenberg Starplayer TV White Velvet is a semi-acoustic guitar that combines vintage styling with the latest features. Thanks to its semi-hollow body with sustain block, curved sides and characteristic f-holes, it delivers an open and resonant tone that is at home in virtually any genre. The spruce top and the back and sides made of flamed maple ensure a warm, dynamic tone with lovely sustain. The matt black PUR finish gives the guitar a sleek and contemporary character, striking a balance between a classic design and a modern finish!

The Split/King pickups: versatile sound

What sets this guitar apart are the two Duesenberg Split/King pickups. These are no ordinary split humbuckers: each Split/King contains a fully-fledged, standalone single-coil that is expanded into a full humbucker by a matched additional coil. So, in addition to a traditional 3-way pickup selector, you have an extra switch that gives you access to both a genuine single-coil and a genuine humbucker sound, rather than a compromise between the two. With two pickups and two switches, you effectively have four different pickup characters at your disposal. But true quality lies in the details, and this applies to these pickup switches too: once you’ve selected your setting, you can fold the two switches away to prevent them getting in the way (or being knocked accidentally).

Playability and finish down to the last detail

The solid maple neck with a Medium D profile feels solid and familiar in the hand. And the Indian rosewood fingerboard, with a radius of 305 mm, contributes to that familiar playing comfort of the Starplayer range. This Velvet edition also undergoes a PLEK treatment for completely flat frets, after which the guitar is finished by hand and personally signed. With gold-finished hardware, including the Duesenberg Diamond Deluxe Tremolo, you really do get an instrument that plays just as well as it looks!
