The Genelec 8340A will feel at home in any mix-and-mastering den, where it's guaranteed to deliver extremely neutral, fully robust audio and a frequency response of 38 to 22,000 Hertz (-6dB) at an SPL of no less than 110dB (or 45 Hz - 20 kHz at +1.5dB). Here, delivery is taken care of by a 6.5-inch woofer matched with a 0.75-inch tweeter.

Other measures taken by Genelec to guarantee fully optimised sound are the inclusion of an Iso-Pod stand and technology like DCW (Directivity Control Waveguide) as well as MDE (Minimum Diffraction Enclosure), which help to ensure that any audio produced sounds as neutral as possible. Meanwhile, SAM is Genelec's specially calibrated technology, and short for "Smart Active Monitor". Since not all studio spaces share the same acoustic specifications, you can use your computer and network connection (via RJ45) to calibrate your monitor based on its placements and the acoustics of the room.
