German developers, Hedd have given their Type range a sweet technical polish-up. Built to accommodate larger studio spaces, the HEDD Type 20 MK2, and not only in terms of size but in terms of performance, this three-way monitor sets you up with the solid foundation of a ribbon-tweeter, a 4-inch mid, and a 7-inch woofer that's less hefty and boasts a tighter response, especially since the 4-inch mid takes care of the entire mid-range, so the woofer isn't left bearing the load of anything that ribbon can't handle. The effect is especially apparent in the clarity with which vocals and speech are reproduced, but the overall phenomenon is actually extremely difficult to do justice in words.
