This is a large heavy unit and it integrates well with KH120 speakers - partly due to the great setup instructions and controls (phase alignment, level, bass response and even a parametric eq for fine tuning if needed). Some subs can sound a bit disjointed in a 2.1 system, but so far very pleased with the sound.
I used to use Genelec 1029 with a large Genelec sub - I don't think it had phase align or so many controls, or such good placement and setup instructions. It never sounded right to me in my setup.
I am not sure whether a cheaper unit would have sounded just as good though with the KH120 in my current room though as I haven't tried, and that is the actual question I wondered when I bought these.
The reason I gave 4 instead of 5 starts are because of the following:
- expensive, even with BAXs great discount
- There is no indicator light on the front that the sub is powered up (the white logo does not illuminate like the KH120's, and the green power light is on the back)
- placement is recommended to be soffit fitted or near a wall, but all the controls are on the back!!!! Apart from the power button and the light, you also need to access and see the large array of controls to set it up. This is very inconvenient.
Overall I am extremely pleased with the unit though.

Ik ben geen geluidsprofessional, maar wel een beetje kritisch.
Ik liep al lang te twijfelen over een beter luidsprekersysteem, gewoon voor in mijn huiskamer.
Maar wat ik hier en daar hoorde, was - of schandalig duur (maar wel goed) of het was echt knudde- .
Toen ws ik in de gelegenheid om een radio uitzending life (dus aan den lijve) mee te maken.
En in de regiekamer hadden ze luidsprekers boven de regeltafel hangen, waarvan ik dacht: DAT IS HET!
En dat waren dus deze KH 120 A boxen.
Veel beter als wat ik ooit in welke winkel dan ook heb kunnen vinden.
Besteld en keurig op tijd afgeleverd door BAX, en tot nu toe ben ik helendal buitengewoon ingenomen met de kwaliteit van deze mirakels. Wat een luxe!

Ik geef 5 sterren omdat ze voor mixen uitstekend zijn. Maar...om puur naar muziek te luisteren kan ik ze echt niet aanbevelen. Omdat ze extreem gedetailleerd en neutraal zijn treedt al snel luistermoeheid in. Daarnaast klinkt muziek ook niet mooi. Daar zijn ze ook niet voor bedoeld. Mocht je op zoek zijn naar een bureausetup voor luisteren dan beveel ik de B&W 707 S2 aan gecombineerd met een geschikte kleine versterker met dac en USB-ingang (momenteel gebruik ik de Wadia 151 powerdac mini. Klinkt nog steeds heel gedetailleerd maar met een smooth, vloeiend geluid en een brede, enigszins holografische soundstage, daar kun je uren naar luisteren.

Fantastische speakers!
Neumann staat voor kwaliteit en dat merk je aan alles. Ik heb deze speakers nu ruim 2 jaar in de (video postproduction)studio in gebruik en ben er méér dan tevreden over. Heel veel details in het geluid, heel neutraal in alle frequenties en dankzij de switches naar smaak in te stellen. Je krijgt heel veel power, zonder enige vervorming kun je helemaal los gaan.
Ik heb er nu een subwoofer, de Adam Sub8 aan toegevoegd en deze combinatie geeft nog eens een extra dimensie aan het totale geluidsbeeld.
Kortom, zoek je een goeie en enigszins betaalbare set, dan kan ik deze combi echt aanbevelen.

Ik had eerst de KRK Rokit RP7 G4 gekocht maar daar zat een hoop ruis op.
Ik heb die op retour gezet en heb vervolgens deze Neumann monitoren gekocht. EN WOW!!!
Als ik het verlijk met de KRK heeft deze GEEN RUIS tenzij je met je oor op de tweeter zit hoor je iets zacht (wat normaal is).
Deze monitoren geven ook veel meer detail dan de KRK en zijn ook eerlijke speakers.
goed compact en er komt veel kracht uit!
Het is misschien wel een duurdere set monitoren, maar dat is het zeker waard!
Bax heeft ook een geweldige service en hebben mij goed geholpen hiermee!

Fantastische aankoop geweest. Het verschil met al mijn vorige speakers (Equator D5, KRK7000 en JBL LSR305) is gigantisch. Veel meer detail en ruimtelijkheid. Ik hoor allerlei nieuwe dingen in muziek die ik nog niet eerder gehoord heb. Vocalen klinken opvallend goed. Tijdens het mixen hoor ik nu direct of iets te schel of te wollig is, of dat een element meer of minder compressie nodig heeft. De speakers lijken ook heel veel 'over' te hebben en niet of nauwelijks te vervormen, ook op hoge volumes. Echt een aanrader!
Fijn formaat ook. Voor de twijfelaars: Je hoeft niet bang te zijn voor te weinig laag, dat heeft ie meer dan genoeg bij normaal nearfield gebruik in een gemiddelde ruimte. Ook strak laag: je hoort precies wat er gebeurt in de onderste regionen.
Bouwkwaliteit is op het eerste oog uitmuntend. Geen idee hoe de interne electronica het houdt op de lange termijn, maar ze zijn perfect afgewerkt. Stevige switches, xlr-sockets en een fantastische behuizing.
In mijn ogen voor het geld het beste dat het is. Relatief goedkoop zelfs als je het mij vraagt. Dikke 5 sterren.
