When the microKORG was launched in 2002, it was an instant hit. Even today, it's still an insanely popular synthesizer around the globe in every imaginable genre. Finally, the microKORG has been given an update: the microKORG S!

microKORG S: aesthetically justified

The first thing you'll notice about the microKORG S is that it sports a flashy white finish with gold-coloured lettering. No question about it—this KORG looks ultra-sleek and modern. As a tribute to the past, KORG has given this microKORG S solid wooden side panels for a clean, minimal look that would suit practically any modern-day Scandinavian-inspired interior. Under the bonnet, the microKORG S features a 2.1 speaker system that's capable of more power than you might expect from such a compact device.

More sounds than you can handle

Not only has the appearance of the microKORG been modified, the technology inside has also been updated. The microKORG S's memory is twice the size of its predecessor, giving you a total of 256 slots. KORG added 64 new presets with all kinds of sounds that will suit any type of music. How you fill the other 64 new slots is completely up to you—you won't have to worry about overwriting original sounds though. In live situations, you'll need time to browse through your presets. Fortunately, this device is fitted with eight hot keys for assigning your favourite sounds.

Robot vocals

Besides an arsenal of high-quality synthesizer sounds, the microKORG S is also equipped with a vocoder. Using the included microphone, you can combine vocals with keyboard sounds to create all kinds of crazy effects that Daft Punk or Kanye West would envy! Furthermore, this synth has all the connectors you could possibly need to make your experimental sessions a success.
