When the Prophet '08 poly synth by Sequential (formerly known as Dave Smith Instruments) came out in 2007, it was an instant success that's been used in countless music productions since, earning it its well-deserved modern classic status. This time, Sequential presents the Prophet REV2, a 16-voiced polyphonic analogue synthesizer that's essentially a reincarnation of the original Prophet '08, but twice as powerful. Instead of eight, the REV2 boasts sixteen voices, each of which can be used bi-timbrally, giving you two completely different 8-voiced sounds that can be used either together or in split-mode.

The Sequential Prophet REV2: Pure Analogue Power

The REV2 has two oscillators (DCO) per voice, a sub-octave on oscillator 1, and each oscillator offers four waveforms (sawtooth, triangle, sawtooth + triangle, pulse). Furthermore, it offers hard sync and you've got a wide range of filters, envelopes and LFOs at your disposal. There's also a step sequencer and an arpeggiator, as well as modulation options galore. Naturally, this top-notch synth also has all the connection options you could possibly need to integrate it into your current setup. As a joke, Dave Smith called the REV2 a 'monster of a synth', but with a polyphony of 16 voices, this analogue synth truly is a beast in the best possible sense of the word!
