And in true Teenage Engineering style, this microphone really does come in a box - a box that looks like no condenser microphone you've ever seen before. You can also do more with it, like take it on location, hook it up to a field recorder and capture the quality of audio you should only get in a studio. The CM-15 features a large, 1 inch diaphragm, the performance of which outstrips the built-in microphone that comes with most field recorders by keeping the frequency response flat and consistent, essentially kitting you out with a studio microphone that's built for the field.

The CM-15 microphone can be hooked up to a computer or laptop via the built-in USB-C interface, can be hooked up to pro-audio equipment and recorders via XLR and, while battery-powered, is also fully compatible with standard +48V phantom power. The This ultra-focussed, supercardioid condenser mic already comes fitted with a space-saving mini-XLR output, but also comes including a mini-XLR to XLR adapter and that's alongside a USB-C cable and a tilting stand adapter so it can be used for an array of applications, whether working at home, in the studio or in its natural habitat, on location.
