General
The human voice will always be a fascinating musical instrument. Everybody has one, but not anyone is able to use it for musical purposes. Roland have developed this VT-3 Voice Transformer for anyone who wants to get creative with their voice, disguising its true sound with a myriad of sound effects. This effect device is part of Roland's Aira series and offers functions such as a formant shift and a pitch shift, which allow you, for instance, to turn a male voice into a female one and vice versa. Various other effects, such as a vocoder, synth, megaphone, radio and scatter, are also at your disposal. The vocoder effect is similar to that of Roland's own VP-330, the one difference being that the VT-3 does not require a keyboard.
Options of the VT-3
For Roland, high quality is always a top priority, not only as far as sound is concerned, but also with regards to the overall performance and user-friendliness of a product. The VT-3 is easy to operate and comes in a compact housing, making it ideal for travelling acts such as human beatboxers, DJs and VJs. This Voice Transformer also proves its worth in the studio, however, and is a great asset for theatre groups who are looking for a good sci-fi effect. With the VT-3, it only takes a fader adjustment to get someone to change their tune!
Connectors
Aside from the regular stereo outputs, the Voice Transformer offers a connector for an optional foot pedal, which you can use to control your performance. A microphone connection can be set up via an XLR/TRS input, allowing you to use both XLR and jack microphones. For communication with the outside world a USB port is provided.
