The Boss VE-2 Vocal Harmonist is an effect pedal for vocalists, and an exceptionally good asset for singers who accompany themselves on guitar. This compact pedal packs all you need to create a polished sound - just like you would in the studio - wherever you are. It's powered by batteries, which means you can play on any street corner and still rely on your own familiar sound. The VE-2 produces vocal harmonies that follow your own voice, based on the chords of a plugged-in guitar, a selected key, or a combination of the two.

No Need for a Sound Engineering Degree

Creating perfect real-time harmonies is a piece of cake with the VE-2. You don't have to be a sound engineer or an expert in harmonics to do so. At the back of the pedal you'll find a guitar connector. Plug in a guitar, and the VE-2 automatically detects the chords and key, and adjusts its harmonies accordingly. There are 24 types of harmony to choose from: 12 one-voice and 12 two-voice harmonies. With the VE-2's variation button, you can even double that number. If you don't have a guitar to plug into the effect pedal, it's possible to manually select a key by means of a key knob. The Vocal Harmonist also has a practical hybrid mode, which combines the two methods, following both the guitar's chord progression, but letting the manual setting take over once the guitar chords drop out.

Additional Effects

In addition to harmonies, the VE-2 also delivers various delays, reverbs and combinations thereof, which can all easily be adjusted with the twist of a knob. An enhance function makes your voice sound like you've brought your own studio engineer with you. It controls the dynamics of your voice, ensuring a professional sound, and is even capable of making subtle pitch corrections. Use a USB cable to connect the Boss VE-2 to your computer, and you're able to directly record your voice and matching harmonies. The effect pedal supplies phantom power - even when it's battery-powered - so you can use your condenser microphones for an optimal result.
