General

The Boss VE-2 Vocal Harmonist is an effect pedal for singers and vocalists. It is particularly suitable for those who accompany themselves on guitar. It is a compact pedal that has everything on board to create a polished sound like in the studio, but anywhere you want. Because this pedal also runs on batteries so you can play on any street corner without missing your familiar sound. The VE-2 provides harmonies to your voice that follow your own singing based on the chords of a plugged-in guitar, a fixed key or a combination of the two. In addition to the VE-2, this set includes a microphone, 2 XLR cables and an instrument cable.

You don't need to be a techie or theoretical genius

It's easy to create perfect real-time harmonies with this VE-2. No need to delve into the books or take a harmony course to do so. On the back you will find a guitar socket so you can plug in your guitar, or that of the band's guitarist. The VE-2 recognises the chords and key and adjusts its harmonies accordingly. There are 24 harmony types to choose from, 12 one-part and two-part harmonies. The variation knob even doubles this number. Should you not have a guitar you can plug in, you can also always choose the key using the controller. This Vocal Harmonist pedal can also use a combination of both methods which can come in handy if the song modulates halfway through.

Other effects

Apart from harmonies, this VE-2 also has various delays, reverbs and combinations of these on board. Again, these are easily set by a turn of the knob. The enhance function also makes your voice sound like you brought your own studio engineer along. This function keeps the dynamics of your voice in check for a professional sound and can even apply subtle pitch correction. You can connect the Boss VE-2 to your computer using a USB cable so you are able to record your voice with harmonies directly. Thanks to the phantom power it provides, even when working with batteries, you can also use condenser microphones for even better results.

Absolute rubbish. Van Damme cable is just horrible. Also the shell/clips were not grounded when I explored their work. The copper in the cable was all oxidised as well.
