The Yamaha CVP-701B (in Black Walnut) is a luxury instrument that is part of the best-sounding, best-playing and most comprehensive models from the Clavinova line. However, if you think that makes this an instrument solely for advanced piano players, then you're mistaken. Not only does it feature very easy-to-use controls, but thanks a colour display with a clear layout, you'll have found the sounds you need in no time at all! And what impressive sounds they are - with the Yamaha CFX grand and Bösendorfer Imperial taking centre stage. Furthermore, if you're a beginner, you'll be pleasantly surprised by the CVP's Guide feature, which clearly indicates which keys to play.

The Yamaha Clavinova CVP-701B: Realism and Accompaniment

The CVP-701, shown here in matte black, takes things a good step further than its predecessor, the CVP-601. For instance, it features a GH3X keyboard with grand piano-style escapement, as well as ivory-style keys. Another upgrade is its 256-voice polyphony, which means that you won't lose a single tone during even the most intense playing and pedal work. Furthermore, you now have no fewer than 1,286 different high-quality sounds and 310 accompaniment styles at your disposal. Those backing styles can accompany you automatically, based on the chords you're playing. If you hook up a microphone, you can even sing along!

Piano Room and USB

A particularly inspiring feature of the CVP-700 series' pianos is the Piano Room. This is home to not only top-quality grand piano sounds, but also to various classic electric pianos, as well as the Session Mode. The latter mode has three virtual musicians standing by to accompany you 'live' in one of forty available styles. Besides your harmonies, they also follow your volume and intensity, thanks to the Dynamics Control feature. Do you want to record your playing? No problem! Connect a USB stick, and everything will be stored in WAV file format. You can also play back WAV files, and even adjust their tempo and pitch.

Yamaha introduces the new CVP-700 series, which is part of the popular Clavinova line of digital pianos. The introduced models are - in ascending order of features and sound quality - the Yamaha CVP-701, the CVP-705 and the CVP-709. You won't find better clavinovas anywhere.
