The Sound of the Roland LX-6

Roland has equipped the LX-6 with a physical modelling sound engine, which goes a few steps further than the standard sample-based engine of many digital piano models. Based on parameters such as string length, string tension, damping and resonance, and the response of the sustain pedal, the built-in Piano Reality Modelling engine simulates sound with convincing realism and without compromising on any of the important details, resulting in a digital piano sound that's virtually indistinguishable from the sound of acoustic pianos.

The LX-6 also takes things further in terms of sound options by offering a total of 324 different on-board sounds and giving pianists plenty to experiment with: from electric pianos to a harpsichord, and from a vibraphone to strings and organs. The piano sound itself has no real polyphonic limit since the calculation-based modelling process simply responds to what the sound should be like depending on which strings are virtually struck. App support is also included and line outputs have been fitted for direct connection to a speaker system alongside headphone outputs and USB connectivity - the whole gambit. In short, this upright piano brings all of the chic aesthetics of an acoustic piano alongside the flexibility and ease of a digital instrument.
