General

The hardware needed to 'digitise' your own guitar gear has been around for years and can save you the hassle of re-patching your entire rig in between songs. Not only that, it can save you a bunch of money because those boutique-grade guitar amps do not exactly come cheap. To make things even easier, IK Multimedia have invented the software-based version to do all of the above: Tonex MAX. While it's similar to AmpliTube, Tonex MAX can actually do more and enables you to create digital samples of your own gear. This edition sets you up with a thousand tone models, a hundred amps and fifty pedals, so enough to keep you busy for a while!
