General
The Sadowsky Blue Label Guitar String Set Stainless Steel Flatwound 12-52 is a heavy string set for electric guitar, featuring a powerful, deep sound with pronounced low frequencies and pleasant playing comfort. The flatwound windings make the strings feel very soft, your fingers also produce remarkably less side noise compared to roundwound strings. The strings sound very clear, with defined trebles and a tight midrange. They have a rather short sustain, making them less compatible with effects like overdrive and distortion. The firm diameters of .012 to .052 inches and the fact that flatwound strings are a bit stiffer anyway make bending quite difficult. These are not all-round strings for beginners, but a quality set for experienced guitarists who mainly play jazz, funk and soul and like a clean sound.
