General
With the DiMarzio DP284 Notorious Middle Tim Henson pickup, you get a fine single-coil element, which gives you the dynamics of a vintage single coil - and a little less high, with which you can reasonably 'tame' guitars that are very bright. This is partly achieved with the specifically tuned and demagnetised Alnico 5 magnet. The Notorious Middle pickup is actually more or less identical to the Notorious Neck pickup and is also designed to work together with it. The magnet is inverted, so this element manages to suppress hum together with the Neck pickup. This signature element was designed was designed in collaboration with Tim Henson of Polyphia.
