The EMG SA is an active single coil pickup loaded with an Alnico V bar magnet that brings classic ST-style sound, so expect warm mids and deep, full basses. Thanks to internal shielding and a low impedance preamp, you get a virtually noiseless pickup that delivers pure single-coil-induced tone.
The EMG SA: Works For Any Style
The Alnico V bar magnet keeps the tone and output stable no matter how intense your bends are. Whether you're a blues, rock jazz or pop guitarist, the EMG SA provides the versatility, stability and reliability you need to perform on stage and in the studio. With that in mind, it's no wonder that legends like David Gilmour and Mark Knopfler appreciate pickup load-outs that include at least two SAs. EMG's solderless system makes installing this active pickup as simple as can be — just make sure that the pickup routing of your guitar is big enough to house it.

In één woord geweldig! Zoals in de beschrijving is er een typisch vintage strat geluid mogelijk, maar dan zonder de narigheid van de echte vintage elementen. Dus: géén brom, géén ruis. Wel desgevraagd heel veel hoog. Zoveel hoog dat het clean klinkt als een akoestische gitaar met nieuwe metalen snaren. Dit is precies wat ik zocht als tegenhanger met de Seymour Duncan Blackout die tegen m'n brug aanzit. Die is ook heel subtiel bij weinig gain, maar geeft een stuk minder prescence. Ik kan nu zo'n beetje alle soorten geluiden krijgen met eenvoudige middelen (alleen wat stoeien met je gain en je toon).
Kan iedereen die aktief wil proberen deze combinatie aanbevelen.
