Anyone who thinks progressively about a piano will have experimented with it at one time or another: clothes pegs, coins, papers. In other words: prepared piano. You can achieve very nice sounds with that, with a nice reverb over it, it is perfectly usable in a filmic context. After all, a deep piano beat with a coin on the strings is just creepy. And in a way also just beautiful of course. Those who can't get enough of this method, and are, for instance, making music for a thriller: IK Multimedia Cinekinetik: Fractured Piano is for you! In case the more than 5 GB of samples wasn't enough, the SampleTank 4-engine has also been used to make the sounds a bit more bizarre.
