World-class microphones often come from AKG's workshop. The Austrian brand has long had a rock-solid reputation when it comes to rock-solid studio microphones. The C 414 series has also been around for a long time. This C 414 XLII is the successor to the C 414 B-TL II. Where the C 414 XLII excels is in recording lead vocals and solo instruments.

AKG C 414 XLII: 'cuts through the mix'

Today's pop music sound is a mixing challenge. Due to the large amount of loudness, it is sometimes difficult to bring out the important elements in the mix sufficiently. This C 414 XLII allows you to make gains right from the recording stage: compared to the C 414 XLS, it has a slight presence boost and deep spatial reproduction, reminiscent of the C 12 microphone in character. Whether you want to remotely 'capture' a classical instrument, or record a drum kit in 'ambience': the C 414 XLII does it in a very pronounced way, with extremely low self-noise.

Directional characteristics and adjustability

Like no other, AKG knows the advantages and disadvantages of certain directional characteristics. The C 414 XLII is no less than nine-way adjustable. Omnidirectional, various kidney shapes, figure 8 and four 'intermediate modes' offer the right setting option for any room, setup or instrumentation. Signal levels can also be attenuated, depending on the strength of the sound source. A low-cut filter offers further tuning with the recording target. All settings can be bypassed, for when the C 414 XLII needs to be permanently installed. Those looking for professional quality have world-class in their hands with the XLII.

Ik denk niet dat je qua prijs/kwaliteit-verhouding een betere bedrade over-ear koptelefoon kunt vinden. Ik gebruik om vooral om bas en gitaar mee af te spelen met m'n Zoom B1 Four, Yamaha THR 10 en Line6 Pocket Pod en dat doet-ie perfect. Door het lange krulsnoer is er genoeg 'speelruimte'. Verder is het een van de weinige over-ear koptelefoons die óók goed zitten en afsluiten als je een bril draagt. En het geluid is zoals ik gewend ben gewoon goed.

Ik kon gewoon met mijn Gravity MS T B ook bij Bax verkrijgbaar m.b.v. mijn AKG D5 zangmicrofoon op mijn Korg D4 digital recorder een thuisopname maken die prima is gelukt , dus alleen voor podcasts geschikt is dikke onzin denk ik.Zou niet weten waarom het hier niet mee zou lukken. Mijn keuze viel echter op de Gravity omdat de voet een grotere diameter heeft, maar het zou gewoon moeten werken dit artikel voor meer dan alleen podcasts. Maar net wat je zelf wilt.

Ik ben altijd al fan van Sennheiser en deze Sennheiser HD 280 PRO hoofdtelefoon is perfect voor muziek luisteren en maken. Sluit goed om je oren heen en is ook verstelbaar. Daarnaast ook gewoon een goed lang snoer. De prijs kwaliteit verhouding is gewoon top!

Ik heb gewoon mijn oude sennheiser vervangen door een nieuwe. Ik had ook mijn versleten oorschelpen kunnen vervangen maar heb toch gekozen om een nieuwe aan te schaffen. Prijs - kwaliteit is dit gewoon een hele goede hoofdtelefoon.
