Neumann V 402 2-Channel Microphone Preamp

The two-channel Neumann V 402 preamp enriches any microphone signal with pure and honest amplification. Both inputs can be switched to take Hi-Z inputs at will, and thanks to the extra-high impedance, a guitar or bass can be freely hooked up. An integrated headphone amplifier makes direct audio source monitoring brilliantly simple and a monitor volume control has even been provided per channel and independently of the line outputs.

The Multi-Functions of the Neumann V402

Besides the Hi-Z switch, both channels of the the V402 offer all the functions necessary to tweak the incoming microphone signal to utter perfection. Squeaky-clean phantom power is provided for condenser microphones and the included -20dB PAD prevents louder audio sources from overloading the preamp. Since the need to flip the polarity is essential when working with set-ups like double-miking a snare from below and above, this function is also included per channel. To finish, Neumann have added an ever-useful low-cut filter to remove any unwanted lower frequencies - and this filter sound so brilliantly transparent you could actually leave it on for most audio sources.
