Since its initial release in 2017, the original Roland RD-2000 Stage Piano has grown into a modern classic. Despite its status, Roland has removed their eighty-eight-key masterpiece from production and replaced it with the next-gen Roland RD-2000 EX. This no mere 'MKII' edition, this is the RD-2000 plus some fat extras - hence the EX. So you can expect the same level of playability plus some extra perks, including the sound of a German Concert piano and the Essential Upright V-Piano expansion.

The Roland RD-2000 EX Stage Piano

While the Roland RD-2000 EX is heavier than the smaller RD-88, you get way more in return. The keys are even made from real wood and the control panel has been polished off with a set of faders which, with this edition, come mounted in a deeper housing. Overall, this is an extremely robust and gig-ready instrument which, as well as extra weight also comes with some extra playing comfort. And, in terms of sounds, you're getting the very best that Roland has to offer - and that's an overwhelming amount. Physical modelling is applied for the piano sounds while traditional sampling tech supports a complete library of other sounds. In short, you're looking at a serious stage piano that's been purely designed for the performing professional.

Wrote the following about Roland RD-2000 EX Stage Piano

Un VRAI clavier (PHA-50) au toucher piano absolument sublime, et des sons à tomber par terre !
Alors oui, pas d'écran tactile (pourquoi faire ?), juste une ergonomie sobre et efficace : je l'utilise comme "clavier maître" dans mon setup, et ses possibilités sont énormes.
Oui, ce n'est pas le dernier clavier à la mode, mais il est très efficace, et un vrai générateur d'émotions et de bonheur.

Pourquoi le RD2000 EX et pas d'autres claviers ?
Premier critère : le clavier (j'ai testé le PHA-4 Roland, très décevant pour un pianiste, ainsi que d'autres marques)
Deuxième critère : les sons (Les V pianos sont vraiment exceptionnels et modulables à l'infini) et la polyphonie.
Troisième critère : la capacité à piloter d'autres instruments en MIDI, et à s'intégrer avec CUBASE.
Quatrième critère : le prix (il y a de la concurrence, mais est-elle vraiment crédible ?)
Cinquième critère : le poids ... ah ben non, je plaisante, il pèse plus qu'un sac de ciment !
