The Yamaha MP SL 52 L trombone mouthpiece (large shank) features a slightly larger cup and inner rim diameter than the 51 model. The result is a beautiful tone and a mouthpiece that is intended for experienced musicians.
Standard Series
There are a lot of choices with Yamaha - along with all of the instruments they offer, they also have a selection of 170 different mouthpieces. Seeing as the mouthpiece has a huge impact on the sound and performance of a brass instrument, it's logical that they would want to offer as large and varied an assortment as possible. Furthermore, different aspects of mouthpieces are important for different musicians, depending on what genre they play, whether they play solo or with an ensemble and even whether they are experienced or a beginner.
