General
The Yamaha MP SL 45A S trombone mouthpiece (small shank) has a small inner rim diameter with a very deep cup, which offers a brilliant tone and makes the high notes easier to play. This mouthpiece is also suitable for bass trumpet.
Standard Series
So many musicians, so many preferences. One wants a small inner rim diameter, the other wants a large one. Even the smallest differences in mouthpieces can have a huge influence on the sound and performance of an instrument though, and that's why Yamaha knows it's important to offer an expansive, diverse selection of models to brass players. The Standard series is the largest and most affordable of Yamaha's four mouthpiece series, and it contains models with consistently good sound, weight and performance.
