The Yamaha P-225 is the successor to the immensely popular P-125 digital piano. It is basically a separate keyboard, which is advantageous when it comes to the purchase price, and it makes the piano nice and portable. The latter is handy for, say, a choir conductor who takes the piano with him. Also ideal for those who live in a small house and want to be able to slide the piano under the bed after use. But suppose you want to turn it into a piece of furniture anyway, because it just looks nicer in the living room. In that case, you need a matching base.
