The Shure Beta 57A is a high-signal dynamic microphone with a supercardioid pickup pattern, designed to amplify or record a range of instruments professionally. Its subtle frequency range has been tailored for drums, acoustic and amplified (bass) guitar and saxophone, and its supercardioid pickup pattern makes sure that only the intended sound source is captured. In other words, background noise is effectively countered.
Thanks to a frequency range that has been optimised for both acoustic and electric instruments, the Shure Beta 57A is a versatile addition to your mic collection. From studio to stage, this microphone can hold its own, making it perfect for rental companies and theatres alike.

De Beta57A is een alleskunner, net zoals de standaard SM57 is hij vrijwel overal voor te gebruiken.
Hier werkt hij uitstekend als Snare microfoon (alhoewel als je buddget het toe staat zijn M201's iets beter op de Snare).
Maar ook op allerlei soorten percussie, versterkers en blazers werkt hij prima.
Daarnaast heeft de Beta57A dezelfde capsule als een Beta58A - daardoor is hij zeer goed geschikt voor zingende drummers of toetsisten door zijn supercardioïde opnamepatroon.
Flexibel genoeg dat ik er nu 3 standaard in mijn selectie aan microfoons heb zitten.
Hier werkt hij uitstekend als Snare microfoon (alhoewel als je buddget het toe staat zijn M201's iets beter op de Snare).
Maar ook op allerlei soorten percussie, versterkers en blazers werkt hij prima.

Ja hoor! Wat een feestje! Je kent de SM57 n.a.w. al wel, de SM57 Beta is toch net even weer wat anders. Waar de SM57 echt heel plat is, is de 57Beta net even wat "ronder" qua geluid. Zelf in gebruik op een sax en dat gaat als een dolle. Een heerlijk rond geluid, je kunt er echt VOL op, red het prima qua geluidsdruk en blijft strak. Geen last dat het ding "de buren" mee pakt dus wat wil je nog meer? Is het een vervanger van de standaard 57 ? M.i. niet. De Beta is echt anders, niet alleen qua karakteristiek, maar ook qua warmte. Is een kwestie van smaak, maar voor versterking van de Saxofoon aan deze kant: heerlijk.

Hoewel het een prima intrument microfoon is, krijgt deze microfoon bij bepaalde stemmen er een hele mooie sound die goed in een totaal mix zit. Ik heb al heel wat microfoons gebruikt op het podium en dit is mijn favoriet op zang. Ook super duidelijk te horen op de monitor.
