It's not uncommon: you're watching a scene in a film or series and suddenly the sound of an actor's voice inexplicably changes. For a moment, you can hear weird acoustics and a completely different sonic colour before things return to normal. What you're hearing is the difference between recording on set and recording in a studio during the post-production phase. In the studio, the actor is forced to sync up with their on-screen performance, and they're suddenly working in a cosy, acoustically treated booth rather than a warehouse in Essex - so, naturally, the sound is entirely different. Back in the day, those differences were near-impossible to get rid of, but with the iZotope Dialogue Match plugin, everything can be quickly, simply, transparently and convincingly cleaned up to result in a perfect match.
