The TCS silicon snare and tom pads that come with the Yamaha DTX6K3-X electronic kit offer a realistic playing feel while keeping the volume low. The DTX6K3-X is the most extensive member of the DTX Series and sets up drummers with a solid rack, three toms, a KP90 kick pad which is compatible with both single and double kick pedals, a snare, two crashes and a ride. This high-grade kit can serve as a touring partner as well as training tool, whether you're a seasoned professional or you've just started drilling rolls. The Yamaha DTX6K3-X Electronic Drum Kit

The TCS silicon pads of the XP80 snare and TP70 toms have been exclusively developed by Yamaha to guarantee a hyper-accurate response and a more-than-convincing acoustic-style rebound. A lot of the drumheads of acoustic kits feature a two-ply construction with air trapped between the layers. Since this 'air-pocket' has a massive influence over the rebound, the TCS silicon pads have been impregnated with small air cavities that bring the response as close as possible to the real thing. Next to the drum pads, both the crashes and the ride have a 13 inch diameter and feature three zone triggers so no single strike will sound the same as the next and they even boast a choke function so they can be quickly dampened by hand to realistic effect. The hi-hat comes stand-mounted while the toms and other cymbals are mounted on the included RS6 rack, which is set up on the right to leave enough space for the hi-hat stand and maybe to add a twin pedal later on.

The Yamaha DTX PRO Drum Module

All the magic of this kit is made possible by the DTX PRO module which comes pre-loaded with supreme-quality samples, pre-configured kits and presets as well as the option to build custom kits from the ground up and save them to the internal memory. You can also load in your own samples via a USB stick to create something entirely bespoke. To really bring the sound to shape, various effects can be applied per channel as well as compression, EQ and more, and so that the parameters can be tweaked in real-time, the control panel provides three buttons for adjusting the ambience and compression and for toggling effects. Easily record directly to the module or connect up to a computer or other external gear via the USB or MIDI output to send out audio or send and receive MIDI data. And while this kit comes with a download code for Cubase, it's fully compatible with any DAW, and to aid training sessions and a mass of other options, the DTX PRO can be linked to your smartphone.
