General
The DiMarzio DP 402BK Virtual Vintage Blues single coil pickup has quite a bit more body than most normal vintage single coils. With an overdriven amp, the sound actually seems to get bigger instead of narrower - this works especially well in the neck position. DiMarzio recommends using potentiometers with 500K resistance with this single coil, although 250K potentiometers will also work fine. If you have a naturally thin-sounding guitar, or thin strings, this single coil in the bridge position works very well to add some thickness to the sound. The Virtual Vintage Blues pickup has virtually no hum in the sound.
