General

Most are familiar with subtractive synthesis, and perhaps FM rings a bell with keyboardists too. But how many are familiar with granular synthesis? Ohm Force Symptohm is at least a very nice synth to experiment with that. This synth has two granular oscillators and with them you can play small pieces of a sample (a 'grain'). This is further complemented by a noise oscillator and a sub-oscillator with a ring modulator attached. It's definitely not a mainstream synth, if that's what you're looking for, you'll be better served with something else. But if you want something special, Symptohm is very interesting. Artists like Jordan Rudess and Stuart Price can attest to that!
