The Neumann TLM 103 Stereo Set consists of two TLM 103 large-diaphragm condenser microphones, two EA1 shockmounts and a deluxe case, so this set is ideal for making stereo recordings of drums or piano, for example. Of course, there is nothing stopping you from using the microphones for two separate instruments.

The TLM 103 is a large-diaphragm condenser microphone with famous ancestors and a modern sound. The capsule is based on the K67/87 capsule familiar from legendary microphones such as the U 67 and the U 87. The TLM 103 has inherited the detailed mid frequencies that these Neumann microphones are known for but, thanks to its wide presence boost, it still sounds very modern. Also, unlike the U 87 and U 67 respectively, the TLM 103 does not use transformers and/or tubes. This ensures a wider dynamic range. When recording delicate instruments, their own noise is nowhere to be seen and, on the other hand, this all-rounder can record ear-piercing drums and guitar amps without overdriving.
