The transformer-free design of these breathtaking mics ensures an immense dynamic range that's able to register quieter audio sources without immediately adding any unwanted ambient noise; and louder sources without rapidly degrading into distortion. The prominent mid-frequencies and bright high-end of the TLM 103 gleans the results you would only expect of a model that's been directly inspired by the U87.
