Solid State Logic Super 9000 Channel Strip

General

The legendary SSL 9000 sound, now in the compact Super 9000 channel strip. In just a single 19-inch rack unit, you have the full signal flow responsible for that now familiar, distinctive sound. With a control consisting entirely of physical knobs, you have ultimate control over all filters, preamps, EQ, etc. With both mic and line inputs (and a button to route the line through the mic preamp), it is versatile and you have a choice of two mic preamps and an impedance that can be switched between 1.3 kOhm or 11 kOhm.

Signal flow

It features not one, but two unique EQ circuits: the 292 G-series (aka Pink Knob), and the 242 E-series (Black Knob). The 292 has wider bands that allow you to drastically shape the sound and also gives the typical SSL sound. The 242, on the other hand, allows you to make very precise adjustments. So a versatile EQ section, which also features an 18dB/octave high-pass filter and a 12dB/octave low-pass filter. A compressor cannot be missing either, of course, and in the Super 9000 Channel Strip it can be used both before and after the EQ. It is based on the THAT 2181A VSA.
